Thank you for your interest in becoming a Board Member. Please fill out this form to tell us a little about yourself and what role(s) you are interested in. 


Board terms are two years with an option to renew for a second two-year term. The time commitment is approximately 10 - 15 hours per month inclusive of two meetings per month (during the school week) and participation at PTO events which may include school week, evening, and weekend times. All Board members are expected to execute their specific role, serve as a Board Liaison for up to three events, and participate in as many PTO events as possible. 


The open roles for 2023 - 2024 include:

  • Treasurer Elect: Works with the co-treasurer to manage the books (using Quickbooks online), deposit funds, write checks, manage our Venmo and Stripe (credit card) accounts, and work with the accountant for our annual filings and tax returns. 
  • Marketing Officer: Helps set up and execute our marketing strategy including our social media strategy, manage and update our website, build a contact database, manage our Eventbrite and SignUpGenius accounts, and recruit volunteers and participants for events. 
  • Recording Secretary: Manages our Executive Board Meetings and General Membership Meetings including setting the agendas, working with the Committee Chairs to collect their updates, managing the Zoom, hosting the meetings, taking meeting minutes, identifying follow-on activities, and publishing meeting minutes.

Per our bylaws, these positions are open to any General Member of the Rumson PTO. (A General Member is defined as a paid PTO member in good standing.) These positions will remain open for 30 days, after which the General Membership will take a vote on the slate of potential new Board Members.
